Rezalzalah

What am I, what do I do, where to find me, and other essentially non-essential information!

My real, not electronically-produced music side:

Playing the most obnoxious type of instrument since '18!

Rezalzalah holding a trombone very aggressively

my electronic orchestral composer side:

An image of a Digital Audio Workstation with many channels corresponding to different instruments.

"I can't afford an orchestra, but I sure as hell can afford most of the orchestral libraries that I want!"
— Rez, 20 minutes before refinancing his entire family to buy a sample library

Projects, Works, and shenanigans:

Can you believe that my first piece of uploaded work to the internet was almost a Friday Night Funkin' Song? I think that inherently shows a flaw in the way I was trying to present my brand. Though it was a fun gimmick initially, I was looking to FNF as a way of riding what was popular to get to the top; only then would I actually switch to working on something I actually wanted to do. This would most certainly make my following completely disappear, which would hurt my self esteem so badly that I may have quit music altogether. Realizing this has helped me do what I enjoy doing from the very beginning, which will make the content I produce for the people who enjoy my works a lot higher in quality.

A series of tweets, each containing one of Rezalzalah's previous music projects.

My real, not electronically-produced music side:

Rezalzalah standing next to his sister, Lee. Both are holding their signature instruments, the Euphonium and Baritone saxophone.

Roughly four years ago, I was pressured by my older sister into joining a wind ensemble that my high school had for a special breed of child called a "Band Kid"; that was the most defining moment of my life. Well, aside from meeting my girlfriend. I suppose that would make it the second most defining moment of my life, as I was introduced to the euphonium. I know what you may be thinking: "Oh, I'm so sorry. I hope you feel better". Now, don't be confused — its an instrument, not a chronic illness. Maybe it is, considering music hasn't really left my system since I started playing that hunk of brass. Not long after, I started playing the official funny instrument©®™, the trombone. Not long after that, I decided that music was my calling, and that I would pursue high education in its name.

my electronic orchestral composer side:

It was around the time that I started my music journey that I had suddenly become acutely aware of the soundtrack in whatever piece of media I was consuming — namely, video games. I was always a fan of video game OST's, but my appreciation for music and music theory had made me far more interested in how different composing for a video game was to composing for a regular orchestra. My interest only grew once I had found one of my largest inspirations to date, Alex Moukala (https://www.youtube.com/c/AlexMoukalaMusic). From there, I discovered how to compose using a Digital Audio Workstation (FL studio), and have had a dream to compose for a video game ever since! oh yeah, and also I can't afford an entire orchestra so I have to rely on computers ^^;

Projects, Works, and shenanigans:

So far, all my pieces that I've uploaded as of writing this have either been covers, recreations, or compositions. Though fun, I hope to build on my skills and start to create fully original pieces of music. Perhaps I may be able to compose for my very own video game at some point! Though, that might require a lot of work, so until then, I will pump out tracks and expand my knowledge!

The reasoning behind the photo above may be a bit metaphorical, in a sense. It shows a blank FL studio file; I suppose I mean to depict an empty canvas, a surface untouched by any previous artist, allowing me to create whatever piece of art I wish, in order to convey any emotion I choose to my audience.
